Unboxing your ingredients is the first step to a great brew day. Because we offer several ways to brew, from traditional methods to our new "Flash Brewing" recipes, your box may look different depending on what you ordered. Here is how to identify your components and get started.

1. Standard 5-Gallon Recipe Kits

Our standard kits are available in Extract (LME), DME, or All-Grain (Milled or Unmilled). To ensure maximum freshness, we ship these in two parts:

• Flavor Pack: This is a sealed bag containing the "soul" of your beer. Inside, you will find your recipe/instruction sheet, pre-milled specialty grains (milled), hops, clarifiers, and any unique spices or adjuncts. 

• Base Malt: Shipped separately from the flavor pack, this is your fermentable base. Depending on your order, this will be a large bag of All-Grain malt, a container of Liquid Malt Extract (LME), or bags of Dry Malt Extract (DME).

• A Note on "Extract" Recipes: Some older instruction sheets use the generic term "Extract" to refer to LME. If your recipe calls for 9 lb of Extract but you received 7 lb of DME, don't worry! DME is more concentrated than LME, so 7 lb of powder provides the same fermentable sugar as 9 lb of liquid. Read your ingredient sheet carefully, you are meant to have either LME or DME, you do need both at the same time. 

• There may also be "All grain" or "Extract" ingredients listed on the recipe sheet even though you ordered the other kind. The fermentables are all interchangeable and you only need ingredients for one at a time. 

Important: Yeast is not included in standard kits. We recommend the best liquid and dry yeast options on each product page so you can choose the freshest strain for your brewing environment.

2. Flash Brewing Kits (5-Gallon & 2-Gallon)

Designed for speed without sacrificing quality, Flash kits are "all-in-one" ingredient packages. These boxes contain:

• Flash DME: High-quality base sugar.

• Flash Yeast: Fast-acting, clean fermenting yeast.

• Pre-isomerized HopShot: Hop extract for consistent bitterness.

• Cryo Hops: Concentrated hop pellets for massive aroma.

• Instructions: A streamlined guide to start fermenting in record time!

3. Seltzer Kits (5-Gallon & 2-Gallon)

If you are brewing a crisp, refreshing Hard Seltzer, your kit includes everything needed to create a clear, bubbly beverage:

• Dextrose: The corn sugar base for a 100% fermentable, clean finish.

• Seltzer Yeast & Nutrient: Specialized yeast and the vital nutrients needed to ferment pure sugar.

• Flavor Extracts: High-quality natural flavors.

• Instructions: Steps for achieving perfect clarity and carbonation.
