Our wholesale shipping policies are designed for speed and cost-efficiency. Use this guide to manage your LTL (Less Than Truckload) costs, account defaults, and delivery expectations.
1. Billing & Quotes
Actual Shipping: We do not provide "pre-paid" shipping quotes. Orders are billed for actual shipping costs at the time of departure to make sure you truly get the best price possible for the exact package we ship.
Payment Method: A valid credit card must be saved to your account to cover shipping fees, even if your primary payment method is Wire, Check, or ACH.
Lowest Cost Routing: Our system automatically selects the cheapest method. If your order is more economical via FedEx Ground than a pallet, it will default to parcel (a.k.a. small pack or 'Ground').
2. Choosing the Right Shipping Method (Your Responsibility)
It is the customer's responsibility to select the correct delivery environment at checkout. Failure to do so may result in delivery delays or significant post-delivery surcharges from the carrier.
Commercial vs. Residential: If a dwelling is on the property (including home-based farms/vineyards), the carrier will classify the delivery as Residential ($45 fee). Even if you have a business license, if the location cannot accommodate a 53-foot commercial trailer, it must be marked as Residential.
Liftgate Service ($20 fee): If you do not have a loading dock or a forklift, you must select Liftgate Service.
Note: Do not attempt to offload a pallet by hand to avoid this fee. If the driver is forced to use the liftgate to clear the truck, the carrier will bill a "forced liftgate" surcharge at a much higher rate than our $20 flat fee.
Curb Delivery: For residential or restricted-access sites, drivers typically provide "curbside" delivery only. They are not required to move pallets into garages or behind gates.
3. Account Defaults & Delivery Notes
Your default shipping profile is based on your original application.
Permanent Updates: To change your default (e.g., you moved to a warehouse with a dock), contact Customer Service.
One-Time Notes: You may also add delivery notes at checkout if shipping outside your default ship to address (e.g., "M-F 8am–5pm").
Please specify if this is a one-time change, as your account can only store one primary LTL preference at a time. These notes will appear on the BOL (Bill of Lading) for the driver to reference.
All orders with notes will stop on our Customer Service desk for manual review and to make sure we act on the note. This may cause a delay in the fulfillment of the order depending on the time the order is placed.
4. How to Maximize a Pallet (The "PACKER" Note)
To fill your pallet to capacity without "tripping" into a second pallet charge, please add a specific instruction at checkout. Our warehouse will adjust your quantities to fit the footprint of a single pallet.
Using the following format in your order notes will ensure we do exactly what you need:
*PACKER* Please remove/add [Item SKU] to make the order only full pallets.
