Whether you’re eyeing the V2 Standard, the massive Double Wide, or the Pro Outdoor model, KOMOS kegerators are built to be the centerpiece of your home bar. Because these units are highly customizable, this guide will help you navigate what’s included and most importantly, what you need to add to pour your first pint.

1. The Essentials (What You Must Buy Separately)

Customers often overlook these items! To get up and running, you must add the following to your order, as they are not included with any base unit or tower kit:

  • CO2 Tank: You’ll need a 5lb tank (to fit the rear bracket) or a larger tank (to sit alongside).

  • Kegs: Corny Kegs are ideal for Homebrewers, or you may be purchasing commercial draft in Sanke Kegs.

  • Keg Connectors: You must choose the specific couplers or QDs that match your keg style. (see details below)

2. Choosing Your Setup: Base Kegerators and Tower Kits

The Base Kegerator Only

Perfect for those who want to use a specific faucet (like Perlick) or a custom tower.

  • Includes: Primary CO2 regulator, rear-mounted CO2 tank holder (fits 5lb tanks), plastic drip tray, and rolling casters.

  • The Top: Features a 3" hole with a removable cover and pre-drilled holes that fit standard towers.

The Complete Tower Kits

If you choose a unit with a tower kit, it comes ready to assemble with:

  • Faucets: Premium Nukatap forward-sealing faucets.

  • The Hardware: Tower, shanks, and all necessary lines (8mmx4mm Bev and 8mmx5mm Gas).

  • Fittings: All DuoTight connectors and Gas Tees needed for your specific faucet count (1, 2, 3, or 4-tap).

The Double Wide Exception: If you order a Double Wide with "Dual Towers," the faucets are split. For example: A 2-tap option gives you two single towers; a 4-tap option gives you two 2-tap towers. If you prefer a single sleek look, choose the Tee-Bar option (available in 6 or 8-tap).

3. Completing the Build: Keg Connectors

This is the most important step. Match your connectors to your kegs:

  • For Ball Lock (Corny) Kegs: Use DUO150 (Gas In) and DUO151 (Bev Out) QDs.

  • For Commercial (Sanke) Kegs: Use the D1526 D-Style coupler with DuoTight adapters.

  • The "Pro" Hybrid Setup: If you swap between Corny and Sanke kegs, outfit your lines with DUO150/151 ball lock QDs. Then, buy a D1524 Sanke coupler with ball lock posts. You can then click your lines onto any keg type instantly without tools.

  • Other Styles: For European kegs (S, U, G, A), use DUO104 adapters. For Pin Lock kegs, use 1/4" flare Pin Lock QDs with DUO106 adapters.

4. CO2 Options & Gas Management

  • The Bracket: The included rear bracket holds a 5lb CO2 tank.

  • Why go bigger? 10lb or 20lb tanks are more cost-effective for refills. Check your local gas supplier first to see if they prefer to "swap" tanks or "fill" yours before buying a brand-new shiny one!

  • External Gas Port: Want to keep your kegerator perfectly sealed? Use the rear PCO1881 ports. Install an FE133 ball lock cap, a DUO100 reducer, and a DUO150 QD on your gas line. This allows you to disconnect your CO2 tank easily for other uses in the brewery.

5. Must-Have Accessories & Customization

The Nukatap Advantage

Nukatap (and Intertap) faucets have removable nozzles (5/16" BSP). You can swap the standard spout for:

  • Stout Spout: For nitro beers.

  • Growler Filler: Barbed spout for easy filling.

  • Bottle Filler: Use the DUO126 adapter to connect a Nukatap Counter Pressure Filler.

Performance Upgrades

  • Temperature Control: Add a Tower Neoprene Sleeve to keep the tower cold and prevent "first pour foam."

  • Drip Tray: Upgrade the plastic tray to the premium D1426 Stainless Steel Drip Tray.

  • Inline Regulators: To serve different beers at different pressures, use Inline Regulators. Do not drill into the fridge walls! Mount these on an external "Draft Board" for easy access and safety.
