Here are some of the more common questions we get for the IceMaster glycol chillers. If your question isn't answered here, please reach out to us at info@moreflavor.com.
How much Glycol for each unit? / How large is each reservoir?
Please remember, we recommend filling each of these with 4 parts water and 1 part glycol (20% glycol), or less. You’ll need to calculate how much they need accordingly.
Icemaster Max 2 (GLY357) - 16.42L or 4 and ⅓ gallons
Icemaster Max 4 (GLY354) - 30L or 8 gallons
Icemaster 100 (GLY353) - 30L or 8 gallons
My pump controller display seems to be off. It only lights up briefly when I hit the buttons. Help!
For IceMaster Max 2 and Max 4 only
Try holding down the "down" button on the controller for 3+ seconds. This is the on/off function for each pump controller and its corresponding pump.
[This was not included in some of the initial IceMaster manuals. It has since been updated.]
Help! My IceMaster started leaking as soon as I filled the reservoir. What can I do?
If your IceMaster starts leaking out of the bottom soon after you fill the reservoir, it's likely that some of the water/glycol simply missed the reservoir and drained through the unit's internal components. Don't worry, this is nothing to worry about. It will drain fully over the course of a couple of days.
If you do see this, please keep an eye on the potential leak, wiping up any excess leakage and reassessing each day. If the leak seems to be steady after a few days, please get in touch with us.
How do I switch between Celsius and Fahrenheit on my pump controllers?
For IceMaster Max 2 and Max 4 only
Starting in 2023, the IceMaster Max 2 and Max 4 were shipped with controllers that are capable of switching between Celsius and Fahrenheit readings. If your IceMaster was purchased before 2023, it won't have this capability.
For the units that can switch, you'll want to access the F13 parameter on the pump controller. To access the parameters, please consult the manual that can be found on the product page:
I understand the IceMaster pump controllers have a heating feature. How do I install a heating pad to work with the controllers?
For IceMaster Max 2 and Max 4 only
Indeed! The IceMaster pump controllers have the ability to control a heating pad. You can integrate a heating pad or heater to work in conjunction with the chiller.
Installing a heating apparatus does require a bit of DIY work. While we don't have any in house how-to articles or directions available, here are some examples of what other homebrewers have done in the past:

How do I install casters on my IceMaster?
For IceMaster Max 2 and 100 only
While we may not have any casters we sell or recommend for the IceMasters, the threads that hold the feet on are M5 threads. Any compatible bolt 12-15mm in length will work.
The gray fittings that make up the sight glass have broken on my unit. What type of Duotight fitting are they?
For IceMaster Max 2 only
These fittings are 9.5mm Duotight T-fittings. You can find them for purchase here!
